When Expats Gather….

by FatEnglishman on 10 July 2013

Fat Englishman here…

Whenever two or more expat Brits are gathered together, they shall… what?

Well, according to BBC Anglophenia’s list of what we all indulge in when gathered together, there’s no end of characteristic conversational niceties we display – and they’re all very recognisable.  Though I have to say, I feel that our American brethren are just as weather-obsessed as we are.  Perhaps more so, as the weather in America can be decidedly more extreme .  No tornadoes and ice storms back in blighty thank you very much.

To my mind, one omission from the list is the discussion of British versus American news – particularly television news which the average Brit regards as something of an oxymoron in the US.

Anyway, what say you?  Is the list complete?  What have they missed out?

Happy Eating!

British news is more civilized that the US cable version–no screaming matches!
